Ezekiel 32-34

In Ezekiel 32-34, God is reminding us that a major part of His plan involves helping us.  He helps us to know in this life we are living, right now, that He is our Lord.

And so, God shows us how He works.  He comes to us.  He makes us aware of His absolute sovereignty, mercy, and grace.  And through our experiences, God reveals His character to us.

That was true for the Israelites, and it is true for us today.

God's comparisons are one way He helps us understand Him and our relationship with Him.  He compares Himself to a shepherd and us to His sheep in scripture...

"I myself will search for my sheep and look after them...

I will search for the lost and bring back the strays.
I will bind up the injured and strengthened the weak...

You are my sheep, the sheep of my pasture,
  and I am your God,
  declares the Sovereign LORD.

And there are so many more illusions to God (and Jesus) as our "good shepherd" who takes care of His sheep.  Check it out.

What do you think this analogy says about our awesome God and His character?

When it comes to a shepherd, I know the sheep are important.  We are important to God.  He wants to make sure we are where we need to be, under His watch and care.

What else comes to mind?

A prayer for today-

Dear God,

Thank You for Your tender loving care in my life.

Forgive me for all the ways I stray from You.

In You, I find my strength Lord.  You oversee my life and nourish my body, my mind, and my soul.

I want to stay connected and in-tune to You and Your voice.  Show me Your way.

I pray for You to lead _______________ and strengthen _______________.

I ask this prayer in Jesus' name,
Amen

Grace and peace of Christ,
