As I begin reading today, Psalms 1-7 reminds me from the start that, whatever is on my heart, I can bring my inner most thoughts to God. I know I need to pray constantly, but I often struggle with the right words (hard to believe, I know, for someone who writes about God's Word every day). Psalms is full of examples of powerful words and inspiration for our own conversations with our Savior.
Psalms is an emotional collection of prayers and praise to God, expressing the heart and soul of humanity. It was written by various people from the days of Moses (1400 B.C) to the days of the Babylonian exile (500 B.C.). I love the honesty and raw emotion in this book that points to the deep and personal, loving relationship God has with us.
I encourage you, as you read, to search for words in Psalms that speak to your life right now, and use them in Your own prayers.
I found words perfect for those of you who are reading today...
This is my prayer for you today-
May Christ's love fill you this day and every day,

But let all who take refuge in you be glad;
let them ever sing for joy.
Spread your protection over them,
that those who love your name may rejoice in you.
This is my prayer for you today-
Dear God,
Thank You for Your unconditional love and constant presence.
I know there is nothing I can keep from You, even things for which I do not have words. Search my heart, Lord, and keep transforming me by Your grace.
Please, Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference (from the Serenity Prayer).
As I come to You today, Lord, fill me Your Holy Spirit and Your joy. Spread Your protection over all who take refuge in You. Touch our lives and stir us to rejoice in You, Lord.
In Jesus' name I pray,
Amen
May Christ's love fill you this day and every day,
