In 1 Chronicles 12-14, David is God’s faithful follower, and God works out the details again and again. I love seeing David’s obedience empower him to do God’s will and become a great king for Israel. If you’ve been reading along with me each day, these stories overlap our reading from 2 Samuel. David’s personal story is a perfect example of how God calls each of us to His bigger purposes and makes the way for us when we answer in faith.
The numbers don’t always add up in life. We all know that. But, when we allow God to be in charge, when we surrender everything we’ve got to Him, the numbers not adding up turns out to be a wonderful thing!
Take a look at David as he’s forced to run from King Saul and basically fight for his life and his rightful place as King of Israel.
God provides, friends, when we take the leap with Him, day after day.
What does that mean to you in your life?
Peace of Christ,

These Gadites were army commanders; the least was a match for a hundred and the greatest for a thousand.
Day after day men came to help David, until he had a great army, like the army of God.
What does that mean to you in your life?
Dear God,
I thank You for providing all that I need, even when things don't always add up, day after day. Forgive me for being too quick to complain to others instead of taking everything to you in prayer, with thanksgiving.
You are my ultimate healer and redeemer. I pray especially for ____________________ who really needs you right now.
In the name of Jesus, my Lord and Savior, I pray,
Amen
