What does this new life look like while we are still in the world? Paul tries to give us a picture…
13 Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. 14 For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.
I think Paul is trying to say because God so loves me…
Because Jesus saves me through my faith in Him...
Because the fight for my life has already been won...
By the grace of God and because of all these amazing truths, I have an opportunity to experience abundant life, not only in Heaven, but here and now, today, and all of my tomorrows, through Christ who strengthens me.
And you know what? God wants the same for you and everyone else who believes in Him.
This freedom we have in Christ, is a little confusing. I am pretty sure it isn't a pass to do whatever I want or act however I want.
This freedom we have in Christ is a call to let God use us. God wants to use every part of us (especially the broken parts) for His glory.
We are free from worrying about "being good enough" for God. We can experience that peace when we put ourselves completely in God's loving hands.
I know it's a constant battle. It is for me, at least. That's why God gave us the power of prayer.
Don't give up. Give it all up to Him. He has a new life waiting that includes a perfect plan.
A prayer for today-
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you so much for the new life I have through Jesus. Forgive me for holding on to things that You need me to place in your hands. I love you, God, and I trust you completely with every part of my life. Show me how to grow in my faith and better serve You.
In the name of Jesus I pray,
Amen
