Jesus has died and gone to heaven, AND Jesus is still very much here, there, and everywhere in Acts 9-10. Jesus has made God's grace possible and accessible to all who believe, not just for the Jewish people but for Gentiles too (and you and me). Saul and Peter are well aware of that, and they spread the Word. Saul goes from persecuting Christians to saving them. And Peter, well, he is stronger than ever in his faith. God is taking him all over the place. He is faithful to God's voice, and his biggest gift seems to be his ability to talk to people. That's good news for talkers everywhere...
God's grace is so beautiful, isn't it?
There's an awesome big picture happening here. God's love is so deep and wide. He uses Jesus to STRENGTHEN our vulnerable mustard seeds of faith, like Peter. And, Jesus SAVES and USES unbelievers like Saul.
I hope you feel God's presence through our reading today. We, as believers, are God's chosen instruments for great things in this world. Look. The Holy Spirit changes everything. Because of Jesus, Saul was able to walk away from all that separated him from God and completely turn his life around for the better. Because of Jesus, Peter has courage he never knew he had.
When we follow God, like Saul and Peter, God calls us to people, places, and things before we even know His purpose for us. Divine appointments. The question is, will we trust and follow Him on the amazing journey He has designed for us?
A prayer for today-

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for the saving grace I have in Jesus and the guide I have in your Holy Spirit. I pray you will help me recognize the divine appointments in my life. I am sorry, Lord, that I often miss your call. Help me to be more tuned in to your voice in my day to day living and doing.
In the name of Jesus I pray,
Amen
Peace of Christ,
