How does he do it? How does Paul stand all the trials he faces?
It's his faith. I watch him. I listen to his words. He is both courageous and humble for Jesus. He isn't afraid to admit mistakes along the way (like when he insults and threatens the high priest). He relates to people, finding common ground and strength in his weaknesses.
14 However, I admit that I worship the God of our ancestorsas a follower of the Way, which they call a sect. I believe everything that is in accordance with the Law and that is written in the Prophets, 15 and I have the same hope in God as these men themselves have, that there will be a resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked. 16 So I strive always to keep my conscience clear before God and man.
Paul bravely owns his faith. He is on a personal mission for the God that saved Him. As a result, God is with him in all that he does.
It makes me think. Where and how do I need to own my faith? Where is God asking me to go with and for him?
A prayer for today-
Dear God,
Thank you for the Christian example I have in Paul. I pray You will be with me in all that I do. I need You, Lord. Bless me with your mercy and favor. Strengthen my faith through my relationships with others. Help me find and know your way for my day to day life. Give me the courage and the words to share the stories of your wonderful works long ago and now.
In the name of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit,
Amen
Love and prayers,
