Scripture connections: Matthew 27-28, Mark 15-16
Luke 23-24 brings up all kinds of feelings in me... mad, scared, uncertain, sad, surprised, joyful, amazed, hopeful, certain.... We go through Jesus' death and His resurrection. When Jesus finally rises from the dead and ascends to Heaven, I breathe a huge sigh of relief that the horrible ordeal is over. It really happened. Jesus really died; and by God's mercy and grace, we are saved from our own sins forever. We are left with an invitation to follow in Jesus' footsteps as a family of believers.
We always have hope in our own life stories because of Jesus' life story. We just have to believe, and we have to figure out what that means for each of us day to day. Jesus opens our minds to the scriptures (Luke 24:45), and He assures us that He is with us today and all of our tomorrows. Remember...
Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you...”
38“Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds? 39 Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see...
48 You are witnesses of these things. 49 I am going to send you what my Father has promised...
What is the Holy Spirit saying to your heart today, right now?
A prayer for today-
Dear God,
Thank you for your loving me so much, and for your real presence in my life. Help me be a witness in Your name to the power of the Holy Spirit in my day to day life. I pray for all those who are doubting Your power and glory and hesitating to turn to you. Strengthen my faith and theirs, and use me as Your helper.
In the name of Jesus I pray,
Amen
Peace of Christ,
